The ‘watchman' is a military spec rugged handheld computing platform used on-board Royal Navy frigates to collect ship data to assist in the maintenance process.
Over the last 10 years, SKF CMC Livingston has worked closely with the Royal Navy, and in particular to design and produce portable instrumentation and computing solutions capable of dealing with the rigours of life on-board Naval vessels in active duty.
Through the ongoing experience gained from working with the Royal Navy, SKF has continuously improved and developed its products. Striving to ensure customer satisfaction and product performance in the unique environment encountered on board active naval vessels.
In addition to product development, the company continues to provide a high level of pre- and post-sales support and has been a responsive and supportive partner to Navy requirements.
It is considered that the company's specialist skills and products, many of which were developed through close partnership with the Royal Navy, would be equally of benefit to other demanding applications within the Armed Forces.
The ‘watchman' handheld forms part of a full system which includes a software suite for maintenance and inspection management. Neither the ‘watchman' or the system is available directly from SKF.
If you have a requirement for a highly rugged computing device, please get in touch and we would be delighted to discuss your project with you.
